This month, I want to talk to you a bit about The Valdan Wilds, the first Campaign Systembook for Sun & Scale. Notice that we call this a "Systembook", not a "Setting". We do this because calling it a setting would describe only half the book. The other half of the book is campaign system rules for creating and running a Western Sun campaign (which, if you have played The Gryphon's Legacy with the suggested adventure hook, you have already begun). Also of special interest: yes, this is the book which will feature the entire kingdom management system! Okay, so what's going to be in the book? Well, here is a high-level overview of how the book is divided up - we will get you more detail on each area as we get closer to release.

    Introduction

      This is the standard introduction chapter.

    Book One: Player's Guide

      This section deals with player races, classes, skills, feats, and equipment. Each race will have two or three sub-races that you will be able to play as well.

    Book Two: Western Sun Campaign

      This section provides rules for companies, exploration, kingdom management, time management, and provides advice to the GM on running a Western Sun Campaign.

    Book Three: The Valdan Wilds

      The setting information for Valdan Wilds, including geography, history, political powers, armed forces, organizations, and of course, monsters.

    Book Four: Timeline

      This section presents one of the unique aspects of the Western Sun Campaign - an advancing timeline to create a dynamic, evolving world setting. We think that you will really like how this is handled!
